Meet Miley
Miley is a wonderful little beagle mix looking for a family she can call her own. She's a sweet and loving 8ish years young. Though still a bit timid and unsure, she's also quite affectionate and loving. She loves other dogs (not sure about cats) and truly enjoys taking walks and exploring the outdoor on her leash. She deserves to live out her golden years with a loving family. It takes a special person to adopt an older dog but she has so much love left to give.

Tuxedo Kitty Looking For Family To Love
A woman called me today about a cat that had been hanging around her place looking for food. She was unable to locate the original owners, so she brought the cat inside, but her husband is severely allergic and even keeping the cat on a different level of the house isn't helping. We're now looking to find her an forever home.
This striking kitty that they've named Candace is still young, probably no more that 2 years old. She's somewhat frisky and loves to run around after her toys. She seems perfectly healthy, and likes to sit on the recliner in her room. She instantly purrs as soon she enters the room. In fact, she's so engaging that she often wraps her tail around the legs of her caretaker! She may have been outside, on her own for a while as she does startle easily, so a little bit of TLC (primarily at first) should be utilized.
Do you our someone you know have room in your home and heart to adopt this special little girl? If so, please contact cheverlycarneys@gmail.com or 202 812-3233.

Sadie Needs A Home

This is a courtesy post for somebody with friends in Cheverly:
We are moving to DC and can't bring our cat Sadie to the house we are renting. I have run out of rescue and shelter options, which I cannot bear anyway. Sadie is older but healthy. She is sweet but VERY skittish. She spends most of her day under the bed or in the closet, and joins us on the bed at night. She gets only hard food and just grazes, so you don't have to worry about a feeding schedule. She is as low-maintenance as an indoor cat can be. She is afraid of our 1-year-old but doesn't seem to mind older children anymore than she minds anyone else who knows not to chase her. Again, though, she is skittish and probably won't do a whole lot of ball-chasing or playing.
In a year or two, we will most likely have a house she can move back into, if you want this to be temporary. We are happy to provide you with initial supplies and a generous pet store credit.
Sadly, their original plans for her fell through at the last minute. They expressed that they may even consider paying all of her vet and food expenses if someone is willing to foster her long term, until their housing situation changes.
Who can resist this face?

Another Kitten Needs A Home!
Baby Boy is another recently rescued kitten from right here in Cheverly. He's approx. 4 weeks old. Though he's mostly black, these pictures don't really show the little tuft of white fur around his chest area. He's such a playful and affectionate kitten who will purr on command for treats and a good belly rub! He also loves to nestle close, whenever possible. His foster parent has a crazy work schedule, so this kitten deserves a home where he'll get lots of love and attention asap.
If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting him, please contact us via cheverlycarneys@gmail.com or at 202 812-3233.

(these pictures don't convey just how incredibly cute he is)

Cheverly Kittens Need A Home
Brothers, Sinatra and Tuffy are approx. 6 week old, healthy kitties recently rescued from a hard outdoor life by a kindly Cheverly resident. She's currently caring for them, but we're looking to find them a forever home. Sinatra (Siamese mix) is playful and affectionate while Tuffy (gray tabby) is still working that out. He does remain more cautious, though nothing a little time and affection won't change. Both kittens love their treats and are looking for a home where they will be loved and nurtured. They do not need to be adopted together but preference will be given to a home where they will not be an only cat.
For more details on adopting either or both, please contact us via cheverlycarneys@gmail.com or by calling 202 812-3233.
